The whisky they used to name the ship would have done more damage to health than the ship ever will, waste off money but no one says a word , but spend a few bob on trams or anything that will benefit the population and it's hands in the air and shout off your gob   The doctors surgery - Page 13 16779677

Anyone suffer from "floaters" ( I await comments) in their vision? I've had them since I was 12 but have found them getting worse lately. ( They are dark spots/strings that move across you line of vision). Anyone know of any way of treating them? ( apparently, nothing can be done save for some risky surgery)

Did you have them 24/7 Reg? If not, then they were prob related to the migranes. I have these all the time though I've got used to them so it doesn't really impact me that much. Lately though, they've been getting worse. Sometimes I think a black bird or cat is after shooting my the corner of my eye.

Dermo I have floaters in my eyes.I thought once you had them that was it. I have had problems for years with my eyes. I have to use eye drops all the time,to stop them becoming too dry. They are on prescription.

Might be cos I'm not sleeping too well at the moment. They are generally worse when I'm tired.

yep i have them all the time too - can't actually remember when i first noticed them
mentioned it to opticians one time and they sent me off for all these pictures to be taken - scared the life out of me when they said it's usually one of the first signs of retinal detachment!
"but if you've had them for a while you are probably fine" - PROBABLY?!? i PROBABLY won't go blind! that's reassuring...

they seem to get worse and then better again - not sure if there is anything you can do about them but like you i also have them if my eyes are shut

i have a contact lens check next week so will let you know if they are concerned The doctors surgery - Page 13 294053457

This morning I had to go to the Welle Clinic to see the lovely nurse Emily, you would like her Reg. Anyway she made me blow into a machine numerous times, blow blow blow blow stop. At the end I asked if I had passed the breathalyser. No, looks like you have moderate COPD, hmmm, I was hoping for at least severe. Anyway I have lots of new doc appointments to keep me from work so thats good.  Nurse Emily is also in charge of the anti smoking clinic and I informed her I have started the stop smoking pills so shes well happy with me. Champix they are called, some of the possible side affects are a bit disturbing though, stroke, heart attack and suicide ffs. The doctors surgery - Page 13 2419626307   Thats a sure way to quit then.

Well done to him then, I suspect it may take more than two weeks for me but we shall see. Now the way this works is it dulls your brain receptors so you get no enjoyment from smoking and it becomes a pointless exercise. Sadly there are many reports on tinternet of peeps not enjoying sex anymore.  The doctors surgery - Page 13 2419626307  Even after they stop the pills. Or maybe alcohol or even eating! Women may even stop liking cream cakes, Eastenders and chocolate for chrissake. Anyway I'm now looking forward to my weekly sex allowance to see if a) its still enjoyable and worth the effort or b) can I even do it or c) of course no difference.

My consultant told me to start walking in the evenings. Never to do one by half, I have decided to run a marathon in 12 months time. Anyway, the training for the last 2 weeks has been going well. I jog for 2 minutes and walk for 2 minutes for 26 minutes. I'm only going round the garden at the moment until I am able to jog for 30 minutes at a time ( I paced out the perimeter of the garden, its 180 meters roughly) . Anyway, last Tue evening was out jogging and got bitten or stung by something on the inside of my shin. I thought that the pain was so bad and so sharp that it must have been a wasp/bee ( didn't see what bit me clearly only that it was pretty big and dark). I had to go inside and put vinegar on the sting. This morning, I can hardly put any weight on the leg. There is a big red patch about 5 inches across where the bite/sting happened and its itchy as hell. The surrounding area on the leg has gone hard. Eileen has me on antibiotics. I'm fine if i don't put any weight on the leg but when I do I'm in feckin tears with the pain. Just wondering if it was a tick and the jaws are still in the leg?? Has anyone got bitten by a tick before?
