Naw, I had a count of 36.1. I have to go back to the consultant on Jan 28th for him to tell me wtf is going on. I have a funny feeling a dietician will be involved

Re: The doctors surgery
Just think of that pension coming your way Cam, that will give you fighting impetus.
Now going back to what Dermot said I truly believe that the NHS is in a very healthy state at this present time. Politicians keep spouting on about it but seriously I dont think they have a clue. A couple of months back I was sent to Kings Lynn hospital for a chest Xray and thinking this would probably take all afternoon parked in an adjacent street to save on car park. 30 minutes later I was back in my car job done! After Freddies accident he spent 2 weeks in the Cambridge hospital and I never heard him complain about anything once (even the grub) and since then we have been back to out patients and X ray a few times and no hanging about whatsoever. My second youngest son is unemployed again (22) and that is the major problem this country is facing, the young need to be working not sitting in their bedrooms on the friggin playstation and wondering what they can pop down their necks next to relieve the monotiny.

Re: The doctors surgery
Back from consultant. He was very happy to report that all of the individual biopsies came back benign ( knew that already ). No sign of any inflammation of the prostate, at least not enough to obstruct anything ( surprised at this. ). He did wonder if I had a UTI at the time of the biopsy. Told him no, that it was the bad one I got last June that sparked all this off. He thought this was strange as he spotted some debris (??) in my bladder and told me to cut out any fizzy drinks and drink plenty of water only. He actually said that beer ( in moderation) was quite good at flushing out the bladder just that the side effects weren't good. He said that if I was drinking plenty of fluids up until now and still the bladder wasn't flushing properly, then I have/had fluid retention and that he bet a pound to a penny that I was allergic/intolerant to something. I was told this about wheat last April but the next course of action is to see a dietician and by a process of trial and error, work out exactly what, if any, is causing the problem. He also said checked for Coeliac and Crohn's disease while I was in hospital ( didn't know about that, fair play to him) and they came back negative. He rang down to the clinic's dietician and she saw me there and then. I explained everything and she told me to keep a food diary , eat normally for 4 weeks and go back to her. She said that as I wasn't eating bread( or much of it anyway) at the time of the biopsy, then she would have to test again. She also said that the latest "fad" is wheat intolerance. She said that its often not wheat itself that is the problem but fructose that is present in wheat. That explains why the food intolerance one put me off apples, grapes etc. Maybe she was better than I gave her credit for. Oh, the last thing my urologist said on leaving was that he had discussed things with Eileen ( he works with Eileen part time) and that she was very worried ( news to me!) and that he was quite worried himself. Just as well he didn't tell me that originally!! Anyway, sorry for the long winded post. It helps me to think things through putting all this shite down in words.

Re: The doctors surgery
Didn't take my consultants advice originally and I never went back to the dietician after the meeting the last day. Things got worse after coming home from Scotland. I bit the bullet Saturday fortnight and went to see a local dietician. This one has been on television loads of times and is a thoroughbred bitch. She does, however, tell you things to your face without dressing them up.
I explained about the exhaustion and she said that it could be a multitude of things or a combination. So, she cut out all carbs and had me on a green veg diet with omelettes and fish. Things started to improve over the following week, so much so, that last Monday I was full of energy. I broke out a little and had an ice cream cone on Tuesday and 2 Muller corner yoghourts Wed. Thursday, I was in a heap. Friday a little better and today, still tired but at least my sinuses were clear. ( My sinuses also cleared up over the last 2 weeks, weird). Anyway, today she told me that some people have big problems when combining dairy and sugar , so no more ice cream cones or processed cheddar cheese ( I liked that a lot) or even a glass of milk alongside a chocolate bar. She also told me and I quote" you're obese and how do you expect to have energy when you are 34 kg over weight (74.8 lbs!!!) Apparently, my ideal weight should be 9 stone 10 lbs ffs!! I haven't been that weight since I was 15.
The good news is, that even though I had about 15 pints of beer last weekend, I still lost 7 lbs in the last 2 weeks. She told me that will slow down and to do some moderate exercise and to shower in the morning rather than the evening ( or both if I wanted). Apparently a morning shower will kickstart the metabolism and thereby increase energy.

Re: The doctors surgery
She also said that wheat may not necessarily be the problem. She said that when wheat is harvested, that they spray , totally legally, weedkiller on the field the week before. This dries out the plant and makes the seed easier to harvest ( an extra 10% better yield). All we are doing is buying poisoned bread/biscuits/flour/booze
