Post by Adam Mint Mon 14 Dec 2015 - 18:36

Must be the day for it, was at the hospital this morning for pre-op, same place I kicked off when they weren't gonna carry out the MRI scan a few weeks back,,, well wasn't my turn to kick off today, was the girl sitting next to me in the waiting rooms turn,,, my appointment time was 10:30, would seem hers was 08:45 and that she'd been there since 08:30, I picked this info up from her conversation at the reception desk with the receptionist initially then the doctor...
Would seem she had got her letter giving her the 08:45 appointment but there was nothing on the hospital system about it so they were not expecting her (there was another woman with same issue also waiting), transpired that when the girl was informed of cockup when she arrived at 08:30 she was told to wait and they'd see if they could fit her in (nothing certain that they would),,, obviously after waiting two hours she was getting a bit wound up about it, that's when she approached the reception to enquire as to what was happening, receptionist just tells her again we'll try and fit you in, girl ain't happy with this and wants to know a time when she'll be seen, receptionists says she can't give her a time, girl ain't happy with this and is demanding to see someone who can tell her what's happening, another member of staff turns up but conversation is just going round in circles with the same being said over and over again,,, by chance the doctor she is meant to be seeing turns up at the reception desk looking for some paperwork, the receptionist explains situation to him (note, so until this point he is unaware there are two people in the waiting room expecting to see him that are not on his list,,, when was the receptionist actually going to do anything about it, Thursday ???), anyway doctor says give her another appointment date,,, girl ain't happy with this, explains she's taken the day off work, arranged for someone to look after her kid for the morning, etc, etc,,, doctor say it would be unfair to expect other patients appointment times to be disrupted to accomidation her,,, girl points out she has an appointment letter exactly the same as the other patients so what's the difference,,, look on the quacks face, he didn't like that one,,, he says to here to wait and that she would be seen, she asks when, he said he don't know, she explains that her baby sitter probably thinks she is on the way home now as appointment letter says allow a hour to a hour and a half for appointment, she pushes the doc for a time saying this morning or am I still going to be here at three o'clock this afternoon,,, he says this morning,,, she was taken about fifteen minutes later... 10/10 to her, if she had not gone up to the reception  desk she would have still been sitting there as to me the receptionist was doing feck all about it, probably just hoping someone ain't gonna show then slip her in to that slot...
Oh, my appointment was 30 minutes late, nothing to do with her issue, wasn't seeing that doctor, but wait passed ok due to entertainment...

Oh and there is another cock up,,, pre-op last three months, if op ain't done in that time it's another pre-op, so I'm asked any holidays planned, yip I say last two weeks March, think it's the 14th we fly out so that's exactly three months away so don't restrict when you do op,,, Wrong, would seem I'm not allowed to fly for six weeks after the op,,, so she puts down on form op to be carried out pre end of January,,, mmmm that's ok me thinks op all over and done with well before the holiday...
Next question, you sound as if you've got a sore throat, yip says me, I picked up some sort of bug on the flight back from Tenerife a few weeks back, keep feeling as if I'm getting a cold but it ain't come to that yet but it's kicked off my sinus problem which in turn has given me a throat infection, it happens all the time, got a doctors appointment tomorrow morning, it will be another weeks course of antibiotics as per norm,,, Oh she says you can't have the op for six weeks after coming off antibiotics,,, I've to phone her tomorrow with what doc prescribes...
If it is antibiotics as per norm that leaves a window of one day in January for the op and that's the 31s and that's a Sunday,,, got a feeling the op ain't happening soon, plus another feckin trip for another pre-op...

Ref post 653 above, yip as expected prescribed a seven day course of antibiotics, phoned hospital and informed them as instructed, she's going to speak to the anesthesit to see if he's prepaired to reduce the 6 week restrictions on either the antibiotics pre the op or the flying post the op to allow a wider time window end of January begining of Feburay to fit the op in,,, I suspect with it being a non life threatening condition he'll go by the book and set a date for after the holiday,,, feckin Tenerife taxi drivers coining it in...

Blood tests came back so had to go to docs Monday. Saw a Ms Mills who said I am officially now type 2 diabetic. She is my specialist now and will me monitoring my performance, I was busy monitoring her tits. The doctors surgery - Page 27 3705709385   Yes Reg, you would as well!
Anyway now on pills for blood pressure, diabetes and statins. All in the space of one month.  The doctors surgery - Page 27 1498946960  Good job I dont have to pay. Just before I went to the docs I was in Supermarket and purchased extra large box of those round Lindt chocolates, yummy they are, I just suck them until the cool soft bit in the middle dribbles down my tongue. Will I succumb during the next few days?  The doctors surgery - Page 27 2681204924

Got a letter from the hospital today relating to the pre-op for my forthcoming knee operation, letter reads as follows:-

    Dear Mr Minty
At your recent pre-op for the forthcoming operation on your left knee the weekly alcohol intake you stated you consume relates to 32 units,  this is above the national guidelines on alcohol intake, it is therefore our policy to inform your GP of this and advise you contact her to discuss the issue.
    Yours etc...

My reply to both the hospital and my GP:-

At least I'm sober enough to know it's my "RIGHT KNEE" that's f####d, and I ask that you confirm in writing that on the day of the operation you will be carrying out the surgery on the right one, that's the "RIGHT" one.
    Yours etc...

What a feckin bunch of wankers...
