We stayed in Los Diamantes II. It was great except for the walk back up the hill!

Re: What are you doing today??
Met friends last night for a meal, they are here on holiday in their timeshare at Hollywood Mirage. Seems although they have owned for 13 or 14 years they will be forced out as the company want to sell off all the apartments. They have been offered something scruffy in Costa del Silencio and told them where to stick it.
Something similar has happened to Beverley Hills, taken over by one of the travel companies think it is Tui !!

Re: What are you doing today??
Well today Mathew I'm confused.com, Annie comes home from work moaning that her feet are soaking,,, but it ain't been raining ...
She'd been working in one of the companies offices up near Oldham, she was the only person there today, she just finishes her lunch and there's a knock on the office door, it's a workman arrived to measure up for some work to be done on one of their properties just round the corner from the office, so Annie grabs her coat and keys to building and heads off with workman, hour or so later she returns to office, she hears water running...
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
She remembers, just as workman knocked door she'd put her lunch dishes in office kitchen sink,,, and left tap running,,, there's two inches of water in kitchen, luckily design of kitchen had held water in there, it had just started to spill out in to corridor,,, so rest of afternoon spent bailing out...
Brain if there is one just ain't attached to body...

Re: What are you doing today??
Ref the above post about Annie flooding the office kitchen,,, biggest waste of time since chocolate teapots, sink and bath overflows,,, they don't work...
Take note Reg,,, when I rented out my uk house and went Tenerife for a bit I turned the isolater valves down so it was impossible to overflow the sinks/bath...
But what a waste of space them holes are...

Re: What are you doing today??
Currently installing new kitchen units. Progress is a bit slow, awkward when you still need to use it for cooking etc. Drilled two holes in wall to prop up worktop on sink side as its now going to have a dishwasher and washing machine under there but now I cant find the fecking rawlplugs that I hunted out last week. Like most things I do it ends up taking ten times longer than I thought so I have revised the finish date. Christmas, 2017 hopefully. I also have to sort the ceiling out. Replaced that about 15 years ago with tongue and groove planks (matches some of the other ceilings in this cottagy type house) but the fecking knots keep showing through the paint so I will try some oil based undercoat. Not done it so far as you have to remove the wall units to do this,,,, the ceiling is only 6'8" high! As are most of the ceilings here. Think most peeps were Cam family sized when this was built back in the dark ages.

Re: What are you doing today??
floods are not a problem in Tenerife, tiled floors so you just mop up and if your not around the stop valve is outside the apartment, It is those flexi pipes that let go now and then but it is the first thing i change when taking over an apartment, those isolating valves make a racket if you turn them down, tried it in Janets bathroom because her taps are lever type and she wets herself when she turns them on, No dear slowly, no dear slowly, no dear
oh never mind

Don't bother with the oil based undercoat. the resin will still show through. Get yourself some Zinsser B.I.N. and give it two coats. Its expensive but you'll never have to worry about ANY stains showing through again.Perfectspecimen wrote:Currently installing new kitchen units. Re: What are you doing today??
I've put a few songs on a cd to play at the end of my Dad's funeral mass. They include some of the songs written and performed by my dead brother Dave. We thought it only right that he plays some part in his dad's goodbye. What everyone doesn't know is that I've stuck this into the middle of it

Re: What are you doing today??
Good call there Sir. Guess that works on hardwood as well then cos I have had problems in the past painting on that. Peels off in no time. Fair amount of hardwood, Iroko, Elm, Oak, and Mahogany has been used on the new boat wheelhouse exterior and has been out in the elements for about 6 months. It is noticeably paler now so dried out somewhat but think I will invest in some of that. Interestingly the decks and cabin were built by the previous owner from 12mm and 18mm marine ply and painted with epoxy paint. All still in as new condition having stood unprotected in my yard for I guess 3 years now. Nearing completion now and launch date is penciled in for Spring.........

I'm going to have a shave and then we're off to get Macie as it's her sleepover weekend with us. Dunfermline Christmas lights get turned on this evening so we'll be up the town later...

You can lead a horse to water Luke my favourite subject of 2017 has been using my van like it belongs to him, I keep saying rather than look for combo that he thinks will be better buy the Toyota at cost why would i buy it when i can use it for nada, so he just said where is he off in the van I just sold it for a large profit which will help me keep you in the manner that you have become accustomed to Janet said you enjoyed that, yes dear i did, a lot,
all he has to do now is part with £350k and my life is complete Kent
