Today to stop Janet getting board I will have her taking notes and measurements of the bathroom, then we will set off looking at tiles and fittings, this is why she loves me so much, I am always looking after her welfare,

When I let the community rent my apartment they said they would refurb it and I would be well pleased. Well that was 2 years ago and since then many things have disappeared, the cupboard under the sink is just about hanging in there, the shower doesnt spray anymore, just comes out like a tap and the curtains have never been cleaned. They did replace the old analogue tele with a digital one which I have no doubt will disappear if I take the apartment back, put a new plug socket in for the kettle but seemingly failed to wire it up as it dont work, the nearest available socket for the kettle is now by the bedside cabinet but at least its handy for making tea in bed! Put some sticky tape around the big mirror in the bathroom to hide the water ingress in the glass and they have painted the ceiling in the bathroom........ Guess there was a flood from above then.   Oh, and now there is only one plastic chair on the terrace, we did have 3.

When do you get control of apartment back ?

Ripping out the hot press shelving to make room for the new hot water cylinder. 300 litre dual coil stainless steel job. Could buy a van for less :-(

Waiting in for 2 different outfits to turn up, will it happen ?

We've no gas

The feckin genius who put in the shelves originally did such a good job that he filled in the screwheads with wood filler. And while, this person's workmanship and attention to detail must be admired, it didn't make for the easiest of tasks taking the shelves down. I ended up taking a lump hammer to them.  But as this person was so conscientious, I'll forgive him.

Jobs completed so walked in to town for lunch and Jim walked past, we had a drink and a blah blah, 
Back at base camp now, bit windy today so Janet cant lay out doing nothing, told her to do the windows instead,

Been for a haircut, delivered Christmass presents to relations, went for final food shop so we won't starve for the one day the shops are shut and just ate a nice chicken and pasta salad. Washing it down with ice cold cranberry juice!
