Mcqueen wrote:Morning members, Bit frosty but ok, Dentist this afternoon, T cut and polish, These implants are very good, But high maintenance, (Costly) Still wouldnt be without them now, So thats something to look forward to,
Apart from that a nice quiet day, i hope,
Think you are being taken for a mug!! I have a couple of implants and OH has a full top set, our dentist says to treat them the same as real teeth. Clean twice a day and that's it. No toothache or maintenance once in place and last a lifetime (in fact longer). But then our dentist also says why should you need 6 monthly check ups unless you are having problems it is just giving money away.
Costly yes but you should have had them done here - OH paid €9,000+ for his set but even at mate rate daughter would have had to charge him double. Rip off UK!!

Mmm, I had an estimate in tenerife, Your right half the cost, But when i enquired in the uk, He said i cant say until you have a scan, £450 at local Bupa, How can you build a house without knowing what the foundations are ?, I thought that makes sense, Tenerife said two trips ?, It took about 16 trips here, Maybe they spin it out i dont know, Anyway i bottled it and had them done here, £20k lighter, But worth it, Got to keep them ultra clean, Or receading gums start around the implants, Unless he bull shites me, I shall ask this afternoon,

Yes scan is all part of the cost. Drilling into jaw done, then implant put in. Wait 3 months for it to grow into the bone. At that time temporary teeth put in but these are delicate and OH kept snapping his as he ate. He regularly went back to have them re-fitted (there was no additional cost for this but daughter said in the UK they would charge each time), impressions taken, and finally new teeth added.
OH could see the gum receding on one of his teeth at the side so he went back about 3 years after the treatment and it was just taken out the implant screwed up a bit more and replaced in 15 mins. No cost as it is all the same job!! No further problems. Can´t understand it because the dentist is French and we all know how the French hate the Brits.

So am I Reg, I have always hated the dentist but I have two implants and can honestly say he didn´t hurt at all in fact I was surprised when he said they were in place and I just had to wait for them to heal. If anyone wants to use him he is in Adeje He's the one with the hair and glasses
My daughter had a nose around his surgery and although she works for one of the top oral and Maxillofacial surgeons in the UK, Prof Piet Haers said the equipment at the clinic was right up to date. This is their price list

I've just got back from the dentists. Hygienist and check-up. Everything OK. Nice scale and polish, makes your mouth feel like new again.

Very unusual for me to be up first in the morning! Just drove home in Patsys car, (mine failed to start) and the temperature thing said -11.5, Jesus effing Christ, this is not normal. I have to do about 4 miles along a river bank too and there it was patchy fog, I went to turn left into my road but about half a mile to early, lol. Fortunately the rivers on the right. Apparently it is going to start warming up a bit on Sunday and by Wednesday it is predicted to reach 8 degrees. Wow, positively tropical. Probably be out in a T shirt then.
