Price of flights will go up as the others take advantage so knock on effect on holidays

Thankfully we had booked with BA and just hoping the pilots are still not in disagreement with them and everything is sorted on that front. That was a lucky escape

Re: Thomas Cook goes into liquidation
Cheap holiday in Turkey suddenly not as cheap,,, Sharon has a mate who has an apartment in Turkey, she offered it to us basically for the price of the cleaning, so booked flights (guess who with) for mid next month, first supprise was price of flights, £350 each return, then taxi transfer £80 return, then Visas £20 each, then a Turkish government certificate to show we have accomodation when we get to the country £50,,, then Thomas Cook go tits up so straight on internet this morning looking for flights, got flights same dates but £475 each return..... Then Sharon's mate phones to ask what our plans are, turns out her and her husband are out just after us , booked flights last weekend, guess who with ! They managed to get a flight out to airport 40 minutes from apartment, but for return they're gonna have a 3 hour drive to another airport,,, they as us booked on credit card so should get original ticket money refunded, but it ain't no cheap holiday...

Re: Thomas Cook goes into liquidation
Just went on Jet2 site, flights now£548, so this morning we paid £475, and original Thomas Cook flights were £350, we could have booked Jet2 originally for £330 but times weren't as good, so now Jet2 flights have gone from £330 to £548, up £218...

£500 extra. But the 1st one was Portugal A/I. New one is Mallorca half board for the 3 of them.

Re: Thomas Cook goes into liquidation
Sharon loves Goa, been going for years, she'd been looking flights for Feb/March next year, we paid £650 return each last year, that was with Thomas Cook who did direct flights from UK, you could do it cheaper but involved changes, she's looked today, even non direct flights are double what we paid last year,,, think Goa's off the menu...

Re: Thomas Cook goes into liquidation
Well I'm surprised at you lot. Thomas Cook were always going tits up, I have known for at least 6 months as well as everyone who works there. I have been looking at October 8th but I wont be paying silly money. All those nice shiny planes sitting there doing nowt you would think someone would snap them up, dump the shops, and just use tinternet booking like O'leary.
