When living Scotland in bad weather I would get up, fill two plastic lemonade bottles with hot water, put on dashboard, sweep any snow off windows, go back in house , have breakfast, go out and car screen was clear ready to go to work..

If you have 2 keys go out and start the car then lock it with spare key and return after 30 mins

My wee Fiesta has heated front and rear windows. Only takes a few minutes to melt.

Some posh cars have remote start so you dont need to go out

You have to be able to get the car doors open first. Someone had to climb in though the back yesterday
