We'll soon be bigger than you any way, you lot are falling into the sea and we're actually rising. (It's all to do with the retreat of the last ice age, billions of tons of ice pressure on Scotland sank us into the earth's crust and now the ice has left we're "re-bounding" back up again.)

Perfectspecimen is in a dodgy spot CC. Low lying fens, dug all that peat out centuries ago, now most of the areas under water. Just as well he has a boat!

Re: Black and Tans.
Just been looking at the etymology of Galway (as you do) and found this...
Interesting thing is in Scotland, Alloway, Alloa and Alva (all Scottish towns) all mean the same thing i.e. "stoney". You can see where we share language.

Yeah, that's what I thought, nothing to do with "mouth" Mouth is Beul. Primary school is "bun sgoil" or low school. (Don't believe everything that Wiki tells you).

Scot Gaelic "Beul", Irish Gaelic "Beal"
Scot Gaelic "Sgoil" Irish Gaelic "Scoil"
Its weird how similar they are. You would have thought after 1400 years , the differences would be bigger
