I read "The Battle For Spain" and "Stalingrad"...first class reads,he has a lovely writing style which keeps it simple and gets to the facts instead of bogging the book down with irrelevant facts...one of the best historians about, especially concerning the Spanish Civil War.

I only read fiction generally crime or thrillers not into the Mills & Boon or Catherine Cookson type novels but OH has all of Antony Beevors books and while I hate wars and anything associated with them I have been tempted a couple of times to open The Mystery of Olga Chekhova

With a name like that as an author, you'd wonder what the content is like!

    For all the Footie fans.
I bought 'La Roja'- A History of Spanish Football by Jimmy Burns.
A brilliant read so far...tracing the founding of the first football club in Rio Tinto by British miners, through to the historic World cup win in 2010,with politics and intrigue thrown in for good measure.
    A very good buy.
