There are lots of those blow holes around Playa San Juan So when the sea is rough and is coming in it sprays up like that.

It was your second picture I recognised, we were standing on the road just above the bay in your photograph enjoying the view, suddenly as if from nowhere a jet of water (and other things !!!) appeared from a pipe embedded in the rocks directly below us, the water and its contents splashing and splattering against the rocks as it made its way its way down to the sea, a very memorable water feature that Tenerife could do without, but for some odd reason has stuck in my mind.
PS; been to Tenerife more than just a couple of holidays, remember my intro...
