    Considering the reaction when this little forum started how many forums do you think there are NOW that say they are connected with Tenerife?

    At the last count it was 6 or maybe even 7.

    These are TF, which was responsible for the birth of this forum. How many Tenerife forums are there? 3318427985

    Tenerife Forum that belongs to Juba which has been around a long time but used I believe mainly for SEO.

    Los Gigantes Message-board which belongs to my friend Sheila concentrates on Los Gigantes/Playa A/PdS they don´t think Tenerife exists beyond the West.

    TenerifeTV which we have spoken about on here (interesting who is a Mod on this forum especially after his comments about this forum) How many Tenerife forums are there? 1554180325

    Tenerife Uncovered which I think has been going for many years but used to specialise in the 18-30 age group Not heard of this for a while but it raised its head today hence this post.

    Tenerife Chat only just got going I saw it in the first couple of hours it officially hit the internet but I'm not really interested in Model Aircraft of Radio Controlled Cars.

    And I don´t know if it is still going Palm Mar forum.

    I totally agree McQ, that is why I posted. It seems that the problem these days with forums they suffer from

    a) being to narrowly focused
    b) being over moderated
    c) being too clique if you don´t agree with the majority you are bullied or ridiculed
    d) rely too much on advertising

    This forum is fortunate that we don´t need funds in order to run.
    We are so lightly moderated we forget how to do it at times.
    We discuss anything and everything with anyone who decided to join in.
    We make everyone welcome and as far as ridiculing people goes
    We ridicule everyone because that is what we do and if they ridicule back all the better.

    Blimey this Tenerife Forum thing is like a rash that won’t go away How many Tenerife forums are there? 2485877773 this one has been around for a few months so obviously knew a bomb was getting ready to explode so had the fallout shelter already up and running.

    There are millions of them 3rd, and best of luck to them but what really gets me is why we had to take so much stick for starting this one, had / have so many people 'lurking' or registering under false names and making rude comments or are we the only one seen as a threat. I can´t really see that as this is so different to the others. How many Tenerife forums are there? 1498946960 The funny thing is though that some of those that shouted the loudest have now either started their own or are admin on new ones must all have short memories!!.

    Just some stuff that happened when a few members got banned from one forum and decided to start their own. Some people weren't best pleased. They thought we'd be dead and buried after a month.

    And this is the problem when you are reading things, this is the bit I was referring to when I said putting words in my mouth - this IMO had nothing whatsoever to do with this forum.

    OK Gary from the Horses mouth here. Reg, myself and a couple of others were banned from TF, there was a wee interim forum set up to keep a few of us going. This was meant to be a short term measure and was brilliant. The people who set it up did a great job and knew just when to pull the plug. It was this point that some of us joined TTF but were not that well liked because it was made obvious, we were not the intelligence a couple of members wanted us to be, some got banned. So Reg text me and said why don't we start our own. We had no idea how but gave it a go. We invited a few old and loyal friends to join us and soon had a great team that still exists today. I would go as far as saying we have the best moderating team of all the forums, old and new.
    We had many visits from people trying to cause us to collapse and others stating we would not last.
    As much as they wanted us to fail, we are now top of the pops. We have gone from strength to strength and thanks to members like you we are continuing to get stronger.
    We still have the original team and the addition of our very fabulous Holiday mod, 3D.
    The team are Lone Ranger, he sorts all the tech stuff and is incredibly good at it. Gypsy, she moves things to the right place, keeps us in order and gives so much fabulous information, most of the info threads on Tenerife are thanks to her. Mermaid, she moves things and gives us a good telling off now and then, plus she keeps Lone Ranger on his toes. 3D, he does the holiday bits, when one of us is away, but can do anything as he is allowed. McQueen(Reg) he knows everthing about nowt, and pays some of the bill. Me, finally, I am just deadwood, I do move a few bits ad bar people, plus pay the other half of the bills.
    All the regular posters are just great, lurkers are very welcome and sometimes posters equally welcome. The non posters, if you just like to nose and have joined you need to log in or in the next clean up, those that have not posted for 4 months will get an email, then wiped.

    I'm the owner of Tenerife-uncovered.com but I don't see other forums as competition. My site has been going over 10 years and is completely non-profit so as long as people are getting their information fix from somewhere, thats all that matters really.

    Thanks Topdog. Will do!

    The sites been more about information than a community although the community aspect certainly took hold. The problem with my site currently is that Facebook seems to have took nearly all out demographic away. We were a thriving forum for years until facebook became the mainstay of general communication over the internet. After that kicked into top gear we didn't really stand a chance. We're getting the hits for sure, infact we're at around 10,000 unique hits per month but encouraging users to post is the difficult part.

    Glad to see this place is doing so well.
