Re: 15 police injured in Belfast.
It was a provocative move to vote the removal of the Union Jack ( except for nominated days). They should have voted instead to fly the Tricolour alongside, that way both traditions would be recognised.

Re: 15 police injured in Belfast.
They should have kept the Union flag flying,imo,...If you think there is trouble now because they're only flying the Union flag on designated days,I could only imagine with horror what would happen if the Tricolour were to fly above city hall.
Imo this issue is being played out in Belfast over party politics...the DUP want the Westminter seat they lost to Alliance back, and this is the perfect oppurtunity for the DUP to allienate Alliance from the middle class protestant/unionist voters...yet the DUP have voted for this scenario in plenty of other council areas...Lisburn being one
Sinn Fein and the SDLP are rubbing their hands in glee over their petty sectarian act, claiming to be putting manners into the unionists.
I despair at the politics here....we have people out of work, choosing between eating or heating, losing houses, yet we have these eejits on both sides playing petty games over a bloody flag.
The "Nationalist/Republican" parties should hang their head in shame over pushing this petty sectarian issue....instead of fighting for a better deal economically for working people, they chose to nail their sectarian colours to the mast and stir the melting pot of hatred instead.
Rant over!

Yep, just a more palatable name for ethnic cleansing. 400 years on, its still causing division

Paragraphs 4 and 5 in CCs post number 5 sum it up nicely. They should be looking to the future not the past. The past cannot be rectified. I have made wrong decisions in my life but nowt can be changed, only my behaviour and decisions Jeez, best I get on the beer........
