Re: What are you doing today??
Cam apparently there are 80 jocks booked for tonight , they even have a couple from Kirkaldy who do all the adresses etc , sounds very well organized , the Winter gardens are really a wee bit of Scotland in the sun
P.S the first meal I had in the Rendesvous [restaurant in winter gdns] was breast of chicken served on a bed of Islay black pudding with Drambuie sauce

Re: What are you doing today??
Our house is lovely and quiet, Luke and Lexie have gone swiming, Janets layed out reading, (She's never had it so good) which i will remind her of in a minute, I will probably say something like "Look at you, you've never looked back since trapping me into marriage" That should provoke a reaction, Well dont want her thinking she has arrived,

Walk in the lounge with nowt but your smoking jacket on, undone. See what reaction you get. None, she has had it better then.

Re: What are you doing today??
I've just changed the pull switch light fitting in the bathroom as the old one was getting a bit sticky. I thought I'd leave the string nice and long so Macie could pull it when she is old enough for potty training, (thinking ahead innit), but no, Mermaid wanted it back to the usual length. (Wee Macie will be about 12 before she stops peeing in the dark!).

Re: What are you doing today??
I like the P,I,R ones that come on when you walk in to the room, thats posh innit, but its good for hygene, but then you have to make the door open outwards, just so you dont touch anything after washing your hands.
There not hard to fit tho,

If they go off whilst peeing, you have a shot in the dark and puddles. Well Reg would be alright he sits down.

Re: What are you doing today??
Bought a pack of washers for the taps at B&Q yesterday so I changed out 3 of them today. Drips have all stopped! I'm going to buy replacement valves and tops though as they're pretty well knackered. Might as well replace the lot. Sink and bath and kitchen, 3 sets at £20 a set. Not too bad, I'll do it next weekend, I've done enough today.

Re: What are you doing today??
Once saw a so called plumber undo the tap valves without holding the tap, because the sink had a square that the tap sat in he broke the sink, Calm as you like he told the woman she needed a new sink, ,

Re: What are you doing today??
If it's only the tops and the internal valves it's easy enough Davie. Having the right tools helps too! As Reg said on an earlier thread make sure when undoing the large valve nut you have something to grip the lower body of the tap with so it doesn't try to twist at the same time.
Edit: Oh! And make sure you've turned the water off beforehand!

Re: What are you doing today??
Recovered from our Burns supper ,we had a great night ,it was a full house and all went well, met loads of lovely people from all over [Scotland] and had a simply wonderful time, it all ended up in an old fashioned Scottish sing song , for a wee laugh ,on our way downstairs as we passed a crowd of other nationalities , I called to the restaurant manager asking if the haggis was wild or farmed to which he replied that they were only allowed to import farmed haggis but hoped it had not spoiled our meal , the comments were priceless,"did you hear that dear they can only have farmed haggis that,s awful" great night perhaps a repeat next year ?
