Re: Culinary delight thread...
Yesterday afternoon we met up with my mate and his wife, we just had a wander about having a beer here and there then plan was to meet up with his daughter her man and there two kids for something to eat, so they ask where should we eat, I suggest Bar Deportivo on the roundabout just up from Los Chris harbour rotisserie chicken being their specialty, so there's six adults and two kids aged four and seven, five half chickens with potatoes and onion, one half chicken with salads and one half chicken and potatoes split between the kids, so that's seven adult meals, bread for eight to dip in the chicken jus plus 16 pints of lager, six glasses of wine and two cans of juice for the kids, the kids juice being the most expensive out of the lot, total cost €64,,, that in British money would be about seven quid a head and I'm counting the two kids as one adult in that calculation...
And it was yum, nothing left on any of the plates...

Oh and when we were ordering the kids asked for pizza, but they only do chicken or tapas in there but the waitress said to get the kids pizza from the snack shop across the road and bring it over but their mum said they were having the same as us...

Probably own that to. We go to a curry house when in the UK where you take your own booze, its fab food but no licence and they dont even charge for glasses useage, brilliant, that is old fashioned for sure.

Re: Culinary delight thread...
Just one of the many nibble lunches we had, to start melon with parma ham drizzled with fresh orange, then for the nibblies, crispy wavers with tuna, cheese, onion, chorizo, tomatoes, olives, gherkins and home made alioli to add a bit of kick, all washed down with the plonk of the day which just happened to be a nicely chilled Mateus Rose on the day in question...
Now according to Reg the apartments meant to have a view, possibly if he got them feckin palm trees cut back a bit we'd see what he's on about...

Re: Culinary delight thread...
I call it Chicken Deportivo cos that's the name of the bar that sells it, I've mentioned it before, see posts 317 and 321 on this thread, small bar at roundabout on road up hill from the harbour, I mentioned it on another thread when I was over on holiday, met up with my mate and his family we went there to eat, six adults and two kids, so that was 7 half chickens either with potatoes or salad, bread, 16 pints, 6 wines and juices for the kids €64 and it was yum, every plate cleared...
Me and Annie ate there another three times while we were out, twice in the evening and once for lunch, nothing to do with it being cheap, just the rotisserie chickens are yum...
Tell you another three places we ate, the three restaurants at the entrance to TRG, Taurus, The American Dream and the other Italian themed one I can't remember the name, in the Italian one Annie went for tagliatelle with ham and carrobana sauce, I went for moules mariner, both yum,,, in The American Dream I had chicken fajitas and Annie went for ribs in barbecue sauce, plan was to share, share, we could have shared it with the whole resturant the portions were so big, the ribs were to die for,,, then Taurus, we'd eaten there a couple of times before on previous holidays, first time we had a mixed grill each, big mistake, it was huge we couldent eat half of it, next time we went we had one between us and we still didn't manage to finish that one either,,, this time we went for the mixed paella, we were told it would be about a twenty five minute wait for it as it was made fresh, was worth the wait, it was yum, best paella I've evere tasted, not one grain of rice left in the pan,,, the only difference between them three resturants and Bar Deportivo, about €64 for two of us not eight...

Re: Culinary delight thread...
Oh, and the reason for choosing to eat in them three resturants, Annies shoes and my ears,,, Annie don't like walking on them patterned pavements in her heels so therefore my ears hurt...
So get her out of the apartment and her arse on to the nearest seat, fill her gob with food and my ears don't hurt then,,, once fed taxi ranks right at the door so it's a simple task moving her ass from one seat to another, taxi to chosen entertainment venue for the evening, move her ass in to there and fill with alcohol and my ears don't even know she's there,,, bliss...

Re: Culinary delight thread...
I thought it very poor service and the food mediocre in there especially for the price, get just as good for far less in a decent bar, nowt special. Just my opinion. They also tried to overcharge

Well I'm having the last of yesterday's pork joint supplied by Mr T, it was as usual delicious. The leg of lamb we had last week was out of this world and I now just need a bit of room in the freezer to replace as nobody can match the quality.
