I'm amazed today, I ain't got a hangover after our ale trail trip,,, our plan was to head further than our normal Huddersfield destination, so tickets were purchased for Dewsbury,,, off we set from Manchester Victoria as per plan at 10.58, well all except one, he missed the train, he caught up with at our first stop, Stalybridge, then it was every village for a beer or two until Huddersfield, there was a big food and drink festival (including live music) going on in the big square in front of the station, so feed and watered we head of to Dewsbury, well all except one, the lad who was late at Manchester had only purchased a ticket to Huddersfield not knowing our plan to go further, automatic ticket gates at Huddersfield station would not let him through, so off he set to purchase a ticket, none of us knew this was happening, until we got a phone call saying he'd missed the train (again), he called it a day then and headed back to Manchester, the rest of us had a rethink and decided Dewsbury was to far and got off the train at Mirfield,,, mistake, we'd googled a canal side pub, got there it was in the middle of an industrial area, we'd a hour or so to put in before the next train back to Huddersfield, so a few pints were downed in the beer garden, back to Huddersfield the live music was still going on so we'd time for a quick one pre the train journey back to Manchester, now traveling makes you thirsty, we didn't make Manchester, we were due to pass Stalybridge about nine thirty, we knew there would be live music on in the Q Bar, so off the train it was, we had two hours to put in pre the last train, amazingly we caught it...
