Isle of Skye

Just got back tonight after staying 2 nights in The Cuillin Hills Hotel Portree, the capital of Skye. (It's a really small town but very nice).

...then you walk in the front door to be confronted with sporran wearing curtains!

...bought Mermaid some perfume...


it was dry so I went up the Quirang and left Mermaid in the car...




...saw a load of cairns that tourists have built over the years...



here's an old "blackhouse" which has survived the years...


...and here's one which hasn't...


...seems like I'm topping the bill...


All in all, we had a great time and I would recommend the Coullin Hills Hotel to anybody. It was a great place to stay!

I can honestly say that I've never heard of the expres​sion( and I'm a very knowledgeable guy don't you know)!

I was told they were called that with the Highland people we used to holiday with in Wester Ross. The woman was a native Gaelic speaker too.

Good job they have low windows in that hotel eh. Didnt spoil your view.

There were a couple of chairs for emergencies. Sorted!
