No, the tap water in Tenerife ISN'T poisonous, it is just full of minerals that foreigners wouldn't be used to. Drinking water is readily available in all supermarkets. The larger the bottle, the cheaper the price ( @ 85 cent to 1 euro for a 5 litre bottle if memory serves). We have had no problems brushing our teeth with tap water, but if you are worried, buy a few small bottles initially and top them up from the big one as needed.

You can drink the water, wont hurt you. The beer can though.

Depends on the complex i think, we use tap water for tea and coffee and bottle water for drinking and never had a problem,

Nothing wrong with tap water, as D, said but you can taste the minerals and it has a high salt content. We only use bottled, even for our dogs.

Goat meat is what gupta uses. Fresh and plentiful on the Island. They have health inspectors same as we do. Its also important the human body is exposed to bacteria and such like. It can then fight it in a natural way. In my opinion a water filter would be a total waste of money and quite possibly hazardous to your health over a long period.
