Re: From Me
And without you and Reg, we wouldn´t have had 3.5 years of fun. It was never going to last but there have been laughs, there have been disagreements, there have been meet ups but basically everyone who contributes on here gets on well. We must be unique so

Re: From Me
Yeah, but you should see my 3 year old grand-daughter's face when I told her I was speaking to Santa and he was going to leave some presents for her at Nana and Grandad's house...priceless!

Re: From Me
Bah humbug. I hate Xmas. All the shop staff look at me funny when they wish me a merry Xmas 3 weeks in advance and I wish them a happy weekend back. Load of blox. Once the kids pass the age of 8, thats it, over and done with. And don't get me started on all that xmas decoration shite. The only ones in this house that actually want the stuff are the girls ( and Darragh so Santa will have somewhere to leave his present). It takes me 3 feckin hours to make the dinner. Another hour cleaning up. Am plagued by text messages wishing me a happy christmas. The same feckin eejits do it all again a week later for new year. Shops are feckin packed. Gridlock on the roads. Eileen goes into a panic cos some far off relation sent a card and we didn't send one to them. And the work continues on Stephen's day. I have to drive 200 miles in total bringing my folks up for dinner and bringing them back again AND I will have already spent 90 minutes preparing that feckin dinner as well. THEn, in the new year, take down all the decoration shite AND climb back into the feckin attic again. Load of blox. Roll on February.

Re: From Me
It not, its all more feckin work for me. And i have to stay up late on xmas eve until the kids eventually fall asleep so Santa can leave stuff in their stockings. THEN at half six in the feckin morning they are all going doolally opening presents. When all that quietens down a bit , I have to take out ashes from the stoves and put on fires. Then I have to assemble/fix/battrify/start all of the presents that they are not able to. THen start on the feckin dinner! Reg has the right idea. Pack the suitcase, close the door behind you and grab the first plane out to Tenerife. Go to a nice restaurant for dinner, have a few beers, chill out and none of the blox I have to put up with here.

Re: From Me
I do most of the cooking throughout the year, but Christmas, no,,, Annies job, one of the pubs in the pool league opens twelve to three so bunch of us meet there and have a few beers over a game or two of pool, problem is the place ain't walking distance from Annies and the busses don't run on Christmas day so it's a taxi job and the feckers charge double on Christmas day so it makes it an expensive pint...

Re: From Me
it's pretty much a hectic period for me as well, we have up to 12 people for xmas dinner and at least 5 family stopping with us for 5 days, they have done it for years with up to 9 staying in the earlier days, but as the kids get older they fly the nest and have their own family xmas, but still turn up on xmas day and boxing day for muggins here to cook the dinner
