Known Howard for years, he used to have one of the restaurants on the top square but cant remember what it was called now, someone will know.

Its on the bend as the one way straightens out on the east side of GDS ( before the turn right down to the San Blas CC.).. Its called Terreza de la Paz or something like that. There is a dive centre on the same complex.

Big Als was very busy, you had to book to be sure of a table at weekends, it was trading this year, maybe the Smoke house is next door ???

Big Al was ill a while ago, maybe he has retired. Different Howard, he will be sick when he finds the beer has gone up 50% in Yelas...............

I heard that Big Al had died. I didn´t know the guy and had never been to the restaurant when he owned it. Apparently until he was ill the food was very good and then once whatever was wrong with him took hold he was horrible to the customers, swearing and shouting etc. But that is Tenerife gossip so whether it really happened or not is anyone's guess.

Probably about right Meryl. Went in his restaurant when he was on the top square but nowt special. Nice and friendly enough then but judging by his size and the fact he was a Scot not too surprised he has departed. Hope Howard does some nice salad. The wine comes from Mercadona,,,,,,,,,,,,

That's probably right. I seem to remember somebody asking about him on TF last year and somebody saying that he was back in UK having treatment after suffering several heart attacks.
I've only ever been in his restaurant once and he turned up at end of the evening, collected the money and left.
