Nice that. Going to be a few generations of our descendants come and go before they'll be seen at their full height I would think...

The bar stewards wouldn't let me plant Leylandii trees cos they weren't native.

Good, they should be banned. Got some on one border of mine about 10 foot high, the buggers have to be cut twice a year. Personally I would like to take a chainsaw to them but neighbour likes them. Something about privacy. Bloke accross the road has got a privit hedge all round the front of his, its on a corner so its down the side as well. That must be at least 12ft high and a six foot fence behind that as well. About every 3 months hes out cutting that, uses a mobile scaffold tower. Madness. Nice bloke though, he owns a classic Lambretta scooter. Sometimes he takes it for a ride up the road, more than once I have seen him pushing it back home. Talking of classic vehicles the Panda is behaving itself now. Probably because Haynes Manual dropped through letterbox today. I have had a good read, nowt beyond me in there. Fred is using it at the moment to go to work, 15 miles each way cos they want £406 to put a clutch in his. I can get a 3 piece clutch kit off ebay for £62. I probably wont do it, least of all in this weather. Whats got more street cred Fred? Skoda Fabia or Classic Panda? No contest.

not a fan of them myself to be honest but I had to submit a plan of what I proposed to plant when I applied for planning permission for the house. I wouldn't pay 400 quid to a horticulturist to design the plan so I did it myself. I knew that it would be rejected but also knew they would then provide a list of accepted species, so I stuck in Leylandii. I ended up saving myself 400 smackeroos!
