Re: 30th December 2016 photos.
Yip been to it a couple of times when I've been up there over the festive period,,, the heating systems crap...
Manchester has totally lost the plot with this Christmas market thing, few years back it was good, market was situated on the plaza outside the town hall, probably just a bit bigger area than the Edinburgh one, now,,, every feckin bit of free space in the city centre is taken up with market huts/stalls, total overkill, all selling the same junk, don't know how they make any money... Can recall a couple of years back when it really started to expand the Main Street retailers were kicking up hell about the amount of taxes they had to pay to be there 365 days a year then these market stalls appear at Christmas and steal their trade,,, that said in the same article it explained its the council who erecting the majority of the huts and rent them out for stilly money per day, I seem to recall a figure of five hundred pounds a day being mentioned, now if your a stall in the right place selling German sausages and gluvine you will probably cover that cost, but how many hand made wooden jigsaws do people actually buy...
mmmm gluvine, sure there's a bottle in the kitchen left over from Christmas., and I do have a bit of a tickle in my throat...
Hic...

Manchester Christmas market...
First picture show how the market was a few years back outside the town hall only...
Next two show what is like an underground map of London now showing you how to get around them all...
