Rock Lounge
Has anyone been done to have a visit since it opened in December?? We just missed the opening as we flew back the week before but I just thought those steps up would not be much fun if you have had a few.

Yeah like Reg says old McGuinness bar, wel the new McGuinness that is no longer. Good move by Seamus, because he wanted to move on anyway so he got landlord of bar by Reg to pay for all the work on new one and then sold it trespaso good shout.

Re: Rock Lounge
Why is it in the wrong place, San Telmo is very popular with Canarios, maybe not Brits but they can´t have it all their own way

Re: Rock Lounge
Mcguiness bar did alright in Royal gardens because people just fell into it, they wasnt looking for it,
It then moved along and up a hundred steps, died on its arse, so rock loung follows him in and the place is dead, bring it down a hundred steps on to the front and it would be busy, Location location location, San telmo is for the young locals, no tourists walking past, just the way it is,
But as we all know you wouldnt open a bar in Tenerife, unless your a bit backward or money to burn

Re: Rock Lounge
Neither, Stick to what you know, but if somebody walked into my bar and said go forth and find yourself somewhere else and dangled a carrot i would ask myself why dont you go forth and find somewhere else, Bit like La plaz strip and lazy daze, silly boy, location location location,
Sure €100k sounds good but you would take that in a few years, bit like lotto winners
bit of money and they loose all focus of what business is all about, no quick fix,

Re: Rock Lounge
I always wondered how the Claddagh did so well. Its not exactly easy to find, and the entrance is feckin awkward as well. Think there are steps involved, bit hazy last time I was in it with Minty.

Though i have to say the staff are excellent and very discerning. They can tell an arsehole from a sunflower very easily.

Re: Rock Lounge
I generally don't like Irish bars. Wouldn't be a fan of the Claddagh either. Preferred the Irish Times. Don't know why, might be they were a bit friendlier there.

Agree, met Cam in there, place was quiet but they welcomed you anyway, that is the exception of a place being out of the way but busy later on,3rdforum wrote:I generally don't like Irish bars. Re: Rock Lounge
Now they appear to have a rock band in there it might appeal to punters who get feed up with the usual entertainers down in the LC area. I am sure the over 60s are not the customers they are looking for.
