    Railroad Alaska... Empty Railroad Alaska...

Anybody ever watched this ? Well if you haven't don't,,, just slap some paint on a wall and watch it dry for a hour of your life...

Now I like technical stuff and don't have a problem with geographical programs so thought good mix,,, program jumps between two themes, a train taking supplies to the Alaskan oil fields and people who chose to live out in the wild...

I'll start with the people who chose to live out in the wild,,, best place for them, what a bunch of not-rights,,, if they ever managed to breed something with one eye, three legs and four arms would come out, as said best place for then, the further away from civilisation they are the better...

The train, it's got a simple job, take supplies up to the Alaskan oil feilds, now these oil fields have been there for years and trains have been taking supplies back and forward daily over these years, but not this train, it's journeys doomed... First of all a snow clearing vehicle breaks down on the line which if not fixed is gonna stop the train, then a generator that provides electricity to heat sensors on the line packs in and if not fixed is gonna stop the train,,, amazingly these problems get resolved just as the train approaches their location... Then the train its-self, there are three in the cab, the driver, drivers assistant and the guard, we'll call them the three stooges,,, first of all they decide the locomotive is vibrating to much, so they bring It to a halt to investigate, oh where they stop just happens to be a passing place, the three stooges get out and start looking around under the train, decide nothing's wrong then get on with journey...
Then the best bit, from the cab the three stooges hear a banging noise, from the cab they look down the trains external walkway, one of the engine compartment doors is is flapping back and forward, the three stooges go in to conversation as to what to do, the doors got to be shut if not the engine will freeze !!! WTF,,,, anyways its gonna be very dangerous for someone to walk down the walk way and close the door due to the speed the trained going (40mph),,, now to me the solution is very simple, ASK THE FECKIN CAMERAMAN WHO IS STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO THE FLAPPING DOOR FILIMING IT TO CLOSE THE FECKIN THING...

Apart from all that shit, everything was repeated over and over and over and over again...

Oh, it's on again next week same time...

Yeah, watched it a couple of times. Same old same old repeated ad nauseum. Tree falls on the track and the tree removing vehicle's battery goes flat and if they don't get through every off gridder in Alaska will die... Railroad Alaska... 588840738

Feck all on telly so gave another one another go,,, WHY,,, exact same M.O.

Train sets off with load of gravel, sensor on axle 95 says its overheating, train stops, two of the three muppets in cab get out to go and investigate, they look at brake and say it's hot, get back in cab and roll on,,, bit later train passes a guy at side of line, he's doing a visual inspection as train goes by, he radios driver to say the third wagon brake pads are worn,,, wagon don't even have brake pads, it's got brake shoes and there's no way guy could assess them as train goes by, same two muppets get out start hitting brake shoe with a stone and say it's ok...

Oh, and there was another snow clearing machine broken that just got fixed in time for train to get through...

Oh, and one of their pick up trucks that can run on road or rail is on the railway track and one of the rail track wheels falls off,,, just by chance they had a camera trained on the wheel at the time,,, amazing that innit,,, Oh, and they just managed to clear the broken truck from the track in time for the train to get through...

Then main story for the muppets who want to live in middle of feckin nowhere, last winter one muppets boat has got frozen in ice at the edge of a river, been there all winter, but thaw is coming on so he's got to go rescue boat,,, so he orders a winch, winch is being delivered by the train (so no feckin chance of rescuing boat), but winch arrives, it's a basic ratchet thing that you feed rope through and hand ratchet rope though an inch at a time,,, muppet arrived at boat, its an aluminium tin can sort of thing, I'm expecting him to set up winch to get it out of frozen river bank, but no, he basically pulls it out with one hand and starts dragging up the hill like a kid with a sledge to where his snowmobile is,,, film crew must say to him you've got to use the winch,,, so muppet does, for about two minutes,,, boats only moved a few inches for a lot of work,,, muppet says sack this I'll tow it up the hill with my snowmobile...

Did laugh at one bit of program, there is a black conductor guy on the passenger/parcel train, he says I've got this winch to drop off at muppets drop off point, train don't stop, just slows down a bit and winch is flung off at a marker post, winch/ratchet thing dissapears in to snow, look on conductors face was brill thinking muppet will never find that,,, oops I forgot there was a camera crew on the ground filiming it beenflung off...

This must be the biggest load of shite so called relatity tv program ever made...

Yes there was a very dangerous and life threatening bit where they had to replace a piece of track and the snow was hammering down and a machine got stuck in the snow, it was touch and go but they made it in the end just in time to keep the trains running. Edge of the seat must watch TV good

Was channel hopping, film Runaway Train, 1985, starring Jon Voight was on,,,something about that film I just love, watched it umpteen times, so I start watching it again,,, brilliant it is, railroad man just manages to switch points just in time to stop train derailing, the three on board just manage to slow the runaway train down just before it goes over a bridge to fast that would have caused bridge to collapse, the three on board are in constant conflict, the three on board have to constantly walk down the trains external walkways boy does that looks dangerous,,, scenery is stunning, seemingly film was set and filmed in Alaska..........

    Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

    My favourite film ruined...

    Channel hopping again...
