I'm old enough to remember when it was wooden casks , you would go in for a pint and still be waiting 15 minutes later, it wasn't till metal kegs came in that they could get the temperature just right for rapid pouring

Re: Guinness advert
Guinness is hard to to keep/serve it takes a wee bit of knowledge and patience to serve it properly, most bars just serve it at the same temperature as ,lets say lager and it will be not so good ,especially in hot climates like Spain, it was never meant to be served in frosted glasses and freezing cold, in fact the same goes for most ale ,most bar owners think that because it's warm people want their beer freezing , as long as it's cold that should suffice.

When I moved to Manchester I stayed in the Bar/Restaurant/Hotel pictured below for a few months until I got myself sorted out with a house, was ideal, bar was a traditional local so you got to know people, also showed the football, resturant had a good menu and the food was cooked fresh in an open kitchen so you could see it wasn't prepacked microwave stuff, at the back of the original pub a brand new hotel block had been added on so hotel room was nice and modern, just one problem, they only lager they had on draft was Boddingtons and that was shit, was dark in colour like a bitter and didn't taste like normal lagers,,, probibably if it hadn't been for that I'd have never got round to buying a house...
