Anyone else had this, been pestered by small flies this year, and when I say small I mean small just over a millimetre in length, ones just went for a swim in my wine...

Sounds like fruit flies ,check for fruit/veg debris

Take that on board, will have a search, recall when living in Tenerife any small drip of waste food or drink attracted bugs...
