a lot of them closed voluntarily. very surreal here. Roads empty. I was up to see my brother ( about 60 miles away). He is bricking it cos the arthritis drugs he is on means his immune system is shot to shit. Last thing he said to me was if anything happened to him, I wasn't to travel, to look after my own family first.
First 20 miles of journey was motorway. 32 cars passed me coming the other way. I was imagining this would be what it is like in a zombie apocalypse. We ain't getting the full story from the gov or media either. 3 nurses and a doctor down with it from Eileen's hospital. No mention of that in the media. I reckon they are afraid of panic. If the health workers go down, we are fecked. Chances are that Eileen will get it. We are preparing a bedroom ( it has an en suite that I didn't finish tiling 5 years ago and has been left idle since  ) and I have to finish tomorrow. we are putting in a little fridge, kettle and a smart tv. Eileen is a nurse on the day surgical ward. All elective surgery has been cancelled and the ward is being turned into an ICU. The old TB hospital in Galway, which has 8 or 9 seperate units is apparently being readied.   On the positive side, there is a brilliant clearly explained podcast here where the professor of biochemistry from Trinity college explains what to expect and what is happening to come up with therapies and vaccine.

The therapy bit is interesting. For the past 5 years or so I have been taking Ginger and Turmeric pills and Ginseng. The former for joint pain and the latter just to keep the dick working! Both seem to be doing the job so maybe there is something out there that combats this. Hope its not ice-cream cos I have given that up lately.

that link Dermo is very interesting.  It was unbelievable the videos I saw of people in Spain,Tenerife on lockdow and people where still out and about.. I also think the figures are not the true picture. Tell Eileen she is doing a wonderful job and I do hope she does not get it. We are in awful times at present.

Thanks Trish. eileen is quite scared at the minute, though she hasn't said it. Normally, she would be giving out about something/someone at work. Hasn't mentioned work at all for last 5 or 6 days. I think, more than anything, she is afraid of bringing it home. I'm not too worried at all cos it seems that kids/ young ppl don't suffer too badly, That been said, my hands have never been this clean
