Finally got around to reviewing bars & restaurants from our jollies !.
We are not 'Restaurant' eaters on holiday, prefer bar & pub style eateries as we don't like planning meal times so this is the only proper restaurant we ate in.
Sal Negra was choose because it was one of about 2/3 that was open on that road when we arrived and it looked the best menu and was busy so easy choice for us.
Lovely terrace eating area out back overlooking Vista Sur, was busy only 1 table spare.
Had local tapas for starters was very nice indeed, however better half said she thought she was full after the starters even though we hadn't ate all day !.
For mains I had the local meats with roasts, she had tempura vegetables and but shared the 2, meats were lovely but she isn't that struck on cured/spicy meats but loved here vegetables, they were superb.
The portions were a good size as well just enough for us to share our 2
meals together although the roasts (as nice as they were) got left
because the tempura veg went better with the meats.
Mind would say the plates are very very large, that's the actual crockery the waitress had warned us the plates are big but we weren't sure if she meant the portions or the crockery but she had meant the plate sizes and we struggled to fit it on the table. Strange to use such large sized plates when you know the size of your tables !.
Don't eat sweets/desserts after a meal so never tried them but some of the ones on the menu were very tempting anything with white chocolate gets my attention.
The sangria was lovely 2 jugs went down very easily.
It was busy throughout our time there (although one of the waitresses was either new or having an off day as she was rather bemused and slightly chasing here tail all the time) busy to the point they even asked people if they could come back in half an hour as tables should be free then.
The bill was reasonable for what we had ( if I remember rightly think it was around 25 euro 'ish') and have to say we had no complaints and enjoyed it.
