See LURKERS in action !!

I thought I would go online to show specifically Howard how we get lurkers watching the forum.


I found the forums Twitter account, located the password and logged on at
15.08. At that time there were from the bottom of the page information 11 users online 1 Registered, 3 Hidden and 7 Guests


15.10 and 3 posts added reading shows 28 users online :: 2 Registered, 3 Hidden and 23 Guests

15.12 - In total there are 39 users online :: 1 Registered, 3 Hidden and 35 Guests

15.14 - In total there are 44 users online :: 1 Registered, 4 Hidden and 39 Guests

If we all had Twitter accounts and all tweeted posts that are made we would have hundreds of ‘lurkers’ and move rapidly up the ratings. I think the 7 original guests are probably humans watching what we are doing, but I don´t believe in coincidences and by adding some posts to Twitter I can´t see that suddenly all of those people were jumping online to look at our website so it has got to be bots.

I have a twitter account. What do I do to increase the amount of bots we get?

Can we look at it another way please .....

We currently have 82 members.

Of those 82 members just 25 have made more than a dozen posts.

Leaving 57 members who:-

a) Have decided that TFoF isn't for them.

b) Joined TFoF just to cause conflict.

c) Joined TFoF purely to lurk and contribute sweet feck all.

Would it therefore not be possible to have a sweep of those 57 and delete a few dormant accounts ?

At the end of the day, one has to ask, who is more important to the future of TFoF ? A longstanding member (ooooeeeerrrr missus) or a fecking Bot from Russia ?

Jimbo we do have a clear out now and then and are due one so will have a look when I get a spare 5.

Just because you can see their names doesn´t mean their account has not been disabled. It may have been but they have not been deleted, they can always come back and ask for their account to be re-activated. I think you will find that provided they have given us a genuine email address they will be notified that their account is in danger of being disabled. Of course if they are just a troll with a fake email address they won´t know that!!.

I was looking for someone on another forum a couple of days ago and skimming down the page which had 30 members per page, I was surprised to see that out of those 30 members only 7 had posted and out of those 7 five had only posted once. If you do a random check I am sure you will find it is quite normal.

Like the 2600 on another certain forum that has less posts than us, per day sometimes.
