A 23-year-old hiker has to be rescued by helicopter after passing out while trekking in Tenerife’s Teide National park.
Emergency services acted after receiving a call saying the victim, a foreign tourist, had collapsed on an inaccessible path in the La Orotava area of the Park at around 4pm yesterday.
A helicopter managed to land near the spot and the victim was flown to the island’s north airport where a waiting ambulance transferred her to Candelaria Hospital in the island’s capital Santa Cruz.
