We pay the highest water rates and are not allowed to use the bloody stuff. Seen the Ardingly and Bewl reservoirs, very empty, fact is though we have loads of chalk so plenty of ways if they would spend money on bore holes.

Water board has gone the same way as other utilitys, Why do you think they have talked everybody into getting water meters, We payed alot then they fitted a meter in the neighbours house, They knew we would get to hear how much he was saving, So we all had them fitted, Yes nice and cheap first year, Then all of a sudden its more expensive than it was,
Share holders to pay, So spend nothing saving water and give them big returns on their investment, Just another money making scheme, How come tenerife dont have a water shortage ?, Pissing down in the uk and no water ?, Madness

Never will it be an issue up here thanks to the superb Kielder Reservoir, thanks to Northumbrian Water's excellent managing of the facility we've got gallons of the stuff if not too much and it's been a rather dry winter apparently according to feature on local news programme recently.

Keilder is just Scotland's run-off... . Obvious innit, you're south of us and that's where all our leaks end up! . On a more serious note, we don't have water meters up here. (Yet).
