Re: La Gomera.
I went over for the day in February 2011 and really enjoyed it...a really beautiful place.
I might go over for a couple of nights when I'm in Tenerife next February.

CC, can u get a ferry other than in Los Cris? Also, can you bring your car with you or is the Los Cris ferry, passenger only?

LR is right if it's a hire car it could be pricey because they don´t like you taking them. It is about €100 return for 2 non-residents (no car) about €140 2 non-residents plus a car or go with a resident who has a car and then it would only cost you €140 return for 4 people and no worries about insurance. LOL Just another little perk

Re: La Gomera.
Was looking on Fred Olsen. something up with their website at the moment. They had prices of 60 euro single per adult showing on one of their pages.

Re: La Gomera.
Thanks Cam, it still makes it over 230 euro for the 5 of us. Prohibitively expensive, don't know if we can stretch to that.

Re: La Gomera.
Better off going on an organised excursion, it will cost somewhere around €40 adults and less for kids

Re: La Gomera.
Had a look at Sunshine excursions Gypsy. They don't seem to have any. Are there any others?
Has Fred Olsen got a monopoly on ferry services between the 2 islands? Just looking at the price difference between ferries here to the Aran Islands ( same distance @ 20km ). Family of 5 in Tenerife = 231 euro. Family of 5 in Ireland = 68.40. That must be a first, somewhere that is dearer than Ireland!!

It's quite a bit dearer than when I was last there there is this one http://www.tenerife-direct.com/#la-gomera and this one http://www.tenerife-excursions.co.uk/Gomera.htm
Vanessa/Ket also do it, just checked http://tenerifesunshine.com/en/Excursions its under coach excursions. Don´t forget go on line and talk to one of the girls in the office and ask if they still give you a discount for being on Tripadvisor they used to give 10%.

Re: La Gomera.
Why am I never taken serious, 3rd obviously had an issue with budget, so I come up with a financially viable alternative, and I’m sure if he was patient and waited to get a window seat he would almost be able see the place, all for a couple of Euros.
V, know how you feel... It’s enough to almost make you pack your bags and move on... Mmmm, I hear La Gomeras nice, anyone ever been there.......................
