    Absolutely shocking.
    A very hard watch that.
A few of us on this forum have went over the capital punishment debate many times, but I really think execution for the "person/s" who done this is just.
To take the lives of six children then to be sent to some holiday camp???...the crime doesn't fit the punishment in my eyes.
People who advocate the death penalty are usally passsed off as extreme right wingers or nut jobs, but I think it has to be properly debated as prison is not a deterrent and in some cases doesn't fit the crime.
The trendy left wingers and liberals would be horrified about even debating it but it has to be done, imho.

My name is Mary and I swing both ways, right and left on different issues. I still say as long as it is totally beyond reasonable doubt, we should terminate certain criminals. No reprieve just do it, over and done, but it must be without any doubt that they did it. We should also do the same to any law man who perverts the cause of justice by getting the wrong person done with false evidence, they should be made to take the sentence that would have been dealt, for two reasons, firstly the right person is still free and secondly they have already ruined a persons life. Again though it has to be for sure that the person wrongfully nicked is innocent and not just getting off on technical clauses.
Should be a justice minister me.

This story makes me wary of capital punishment...but I believe a debate needs to be had about it at a National level.

My views are similar to yours. Six children wiped out in this way and it was done deliberately does make me want a severe punishment and not a jail sentence

Why should the British public pay to keep someone in 3 meals a day, access to TV, radio, education and anything else they deem to be their 'human right' to have. They are vermin and should be destroyed as such. Once proved guilty, get rid of quickly.

Failing that set them free and inform the friends and relations exactly where they can be located !!!

Your not trying to compare that silly incident at Reina Sofia, involving a couple of pissed twats with the Derby fire, are you.
There's a big difference about an off the cuff remark and slaughtring children.

When the parents got arrested I will admit I was shocked. I did not want to think in the beginning that they were involved in their children's deaths. Now they have been charged and I cannot get my head around this.

My take on it is it went terribly wrong.

The guy has 17 kids, he has been on about wanting a bigger house for years and I just wonder if he thought by setting fire to his home it would be a way to get them something better.

I really don't want to think they just murdered their children, at the time people were saying he was a hero the way he tried to save the children, so sadly I think maybe he was trying to do what he thought was some good but it all went terribly terribly wrong. Whatever the story it is very sad for all concerned particularly all those remaining children that lost their brothers and sister.

I agree surley it was a very very stupid act which went so wrong. Do not want to think they murdered the kids. However.
