ADVERTISING

After deep consideration I have decided that all advertising on this forum will be by discussion only and a donation to a charity.
This will be discussed with Myself, The Lone Ranger or McQueen and if anyone advertises without permission they will have the advert removed.

well said td that will get shut of some deadwood only here for that sole reason.

Great idea there should be a minimum fee per month, with a reduction if they pay for 12 months up front. It should also be a worthwhile amount not some cheapskate pittance as this place is getting noticed and advertising here will be worth every penny.

Totally correct Cam, which is why I posted this, really as a reply as we are moving forward and I think by the time we have been going for a year, some changes will made for the better of all on here.
I think we have had many people advertising which we have allowed, via signature banners, but we are in need of restricting in some way.
It is merely a discussion and discretion thing as to allowing these and if we feel they are ok and non obtrusive, then fine. I do feel that people advertising events, links to websites or blogs is not too bad, but businesses can afford to help charities for the privelage and maybe at a later date to help the costs of the forum.

It will have to be advertised more.

I have some members on an ignore list so I don´t see their posts so not aware of an earlier post. :sulk2: I am happy to donate for my signature and you will no doubt know that I would like whatever the decided going rate is for mine to go to K9

What advertising?? The only thing I ever noticed was the link to Gypsy's blog in her signature. When did we start allowing adverts? Is it because I have that ad-blocking thingy on Firefox or is it because I is black?

Thats a good idea thats what i posted today asking about advertising could i just say the one that was put on my post was offered by a forum member one of the three members you ask for to seek permission and i said yes ok thanks please do it.

Could you tell us how much the cost would be please.

I think we could suggest something advertisers could have in their signature and leave it in place for an hour. (Of course they would have to post to see this). If they then agree once payment is received it can be used as their signature for the duration of the paid time.

As an alternative those wishing to advertise could send us their template and we could price it up depending on size and time required, again once payment is received admin could incorporate it into their profile.

Think it took LR about 2 mins to put my link up which he offered to do.

But if people want to pay to advertise it should not matter if they post or not as the money will be going to charity anywhy, which can only be good win win situation.

This forum as stated runs along without it so no big deal really.

Does this mean Adam has to donate to the LURKERS union?
