The fate of the Euro Empty The fate of the Euro

    Post by BobMac Sat 16 Jun 2012 - 12:42

If Greece leave the Euro, what happens to any Greek euros you have in your possession when that happens ??

Will they still be accepted, will there be a period of time before they become worthless or is it just tough luck ??

Anyone know how to identify the Greek euros from the others ??

Will it make any difference? If I look in my purse I have Euro coins from several different countries and at the moment Euro notes from Spain (V) Germany (X) Italy (S) and Netherlands (P)when I go to pay for anything nobody checks to see if I am spending a Spanish Euro in Spain.

I had to look up the country codes on Google I didn´t know which was which just in case anyone thought I was being an anorak The fate of the Euro 426031496

Sorry to answer your question, a Greek Euro has the letter Y at the beginning of the row of numbers which is at the top and bottom on the reverse side of the note.
