Came home today and was confronted with a problem which happens quite frequently, a car parked across our dropped kerbs.
Parking is always bad here because of the people who work in town and don't want to pay to park but this idiot was completely blocking our entrance despite having about 6ft of space behind.
Phoning the police is a waste of time since it is not an offence to block a driveway apparently.
My solution was to get my neighbour to reverse his old Volvo up against the back of this Vectra and I put my Primera up against the front so it was completely jammed in. About half an hour later I had a knock on the door, the idiot had returned and wanted me to move my car for him to get out.
I told him that I would be leaving for work at 6 am tomorrow and he could move it then and not before and shut the door.
A while later, another knock on the door. Mr policeman, idiot had called him to say I was blocking him in, I explained the situation, he listened.
Meanwhile the idiot was leaning against his car grinning.
The nice officer went and had a very stern word with him, idiot got gobby, I could see the nice officer getting red around the neck.
The red necked officer decided to retaliate in the best possible way, he decided to take a look at the car.
OH DEAR! NO TAX DISC!
A further check revealed the idiot was driving his fathers car in the belief that his own fully comp policy covered him.
It didn't because his fathers insurance was cancelled because of a drink driving ban.
A scrubbed tyre added to the list. OH DEAR!
I'm smiling now and the idiot looks ready to cry. He did cry when the really nice but angry officer announced that he was having the car towed
away.
The idiot phoned his wife to come and pick him up, she did, he was on the phone to her telling her where he was, she arrived in about 3 mins, still on the phone and pulled up on the other side of the road in full view of my favouritest policeman in the whole world who promptly booked her for using a mobile whilst driving!
Oh happy, happy days!!!!! I've had to move my car for the tow truck though!
