Re: Parents Nightmare
That is a terrible thing to have happened to that family. I do hope the nappies my daughter is using for Macie never do that. The picture showing the burns were awful

Re: Parents Nightmare
Difficult for Social workers as they are dammed if they do and dammed if they don't. A a very experienced foster carer I would like to see a service where an investigation can take place without disturbance to the children. Neglect is a fine line and did this Mother still neglect if the nappy was that full.
Neglect is also interpreted different by each.
There should be in my opinion a panel of 12 specialists to assess these severe not cut and dry cases, not go immediately on the findings of a single medic. The children should be cared for, for 1 week in a special holiday like atmosphere, so it is enjoyable.
The parents should be allowed supervised contact, in case they have done wrong. These people were guilty before being proven.
The scalding claim was a bit here and there anyway. The medic was then committed to her decision and would probably believe and defend it, no win situation unless she was defoe right.

Re: Parents Nightmare
Did anything happen to the medic?
Hope he/she were removed from sensitive cases like this as a serious miscarriage of justice was narrowly averted.
Saying that, social workers and the like have a very difficult job.
