La Guardia Civil de Tenerife North Airport arrested two men aged 26 and 34 years both Spanish nationals and residents of Pontevedra (Galicia) for drug trafficking, and carrying in their body over a kilo of cocaine.
The arrested were identified in the airport arrivals hall,and voluntarily agreed to be transferred to a hospital where they underwent a radiological examination which proved positive and foreign bodies were detected in their body. The first man carried a total of 51 capsules weighing 562 grams and the second 49 capsules with a total of 542 grams. The substance turned out to be cocaine.
The total drug that has been seized is 100 capsules with a weight of 1,104 grams of cocaine. Those arrested were brought before the Judicial Authority.
