Tenerife is on Orange Alert. I had a phone call from my Lad earlier. It could go to Red Alert. They are expecting 25-35mm per hour of rain from around 10-10.30pm tonight. This could be more if the Red spot in the weather map is over Tenerife, then it could be 80 - 100 mm an hour. No one is sure exactly who will get the worst of it, but looks like west round to PDLC.
I can't find info yet but will have a look at normal places. Papers and Janet Anscombe.

Hope it is not too bad, but certainly seems like North has had it bad. Also nasty fire in mountains above Santa Cruz. Take Care all you people in this.

I think Cru will agree, it is lovely sitting indoors watching the rain come down, it is such an unusual sight. The downside is we cancelled our Ladies Wot Lunch and rescheduled for tomorrow - hopefully it will be better then but being free spirits we can do what we want when we want

These are the views from my house taken just now. Normally you can see the masts on Guaza and down to Los Cris and in the other direction La Gomera

Wonder what happened, it was showing up OK when I checked, but looking now it is a very different picture.

See image 1. But I then checked down the website and you can go back a few hours and this is what it was like at 1.00pm Image 2

The North of the island is still on Orange alert. There was so much rain overnight that roads are closed due to falling trees and landslides, the TF5 is down to 1 lane. Houses in Puerto de la Cruz have been flooded and the mains square Plaza del Charco was under 14" (35cm) of water due to the drains being totally blocked.
