Canal Digitaal promotes UK channels

Dutch DTH platform Canal Digitaal Satelliet has started promoting a special ‘triple sat British bouquet’ which includes BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
The marketing move is remarkable, as reception of the UK channels via the Astra position at 28.2 degrees East is intended only for reception in the UK, not in the Netherlands. However, reception in both the Netherlands and Belgium is easy with small dishes due to overspill of the signals.
The Top HD Brits bouquet includes three premium sports channels from Sport1, four premium movie channels from Film1 and three premium HBO channels. The marketing blurb on the website also touts the availability of UK channels: “TopHD Brits offers a wide choice of free-to-air British channels, including the BBC, Channel 4 and ITV, all available in HD.”
People buying the top-tier bouquet from the DTH provider will receive a special triple sat LNB, and a 45 centimetre dish for reception of three Astra positions, the regular 19.2 degrees East, as well as the UK position of 28.2 degrees East and the new Dutch position at 23.5 degrees East.
