Team Nature Protection Civil Guard of Playa de las Americas (SEPRONA) has inspected, and drawn up a statement on Wednesday, a small farm in Cabo Blanco, in the municipality of Arona.
Arona / result of the investigations carried out by a patrol of said Civil Guard Team, we investigated a farm in which animals were found several cabin. When checking the rooms of the same number of horses were found inside the enclosure where not entered any light as doors and windows were closed.
It was also observed that the horses did not have any food or water, feeders and waterers with completely empty. On the floor of the enclosure was lots of manure and mildew. The horses show signs of abuse and extreme thinness, one of them was even unable to sit because of the state of weakness in which he found himself. In general, the condition of the animals was serious neglect and lack of hygiene.
When asked by the agents to the owner of the property by the deplorable state of the animal, the owner said he was in poor health and could not therefore meet the animals, while his son helped him when he could. Furthermore, the operation lacks any documentation for the keeping of animals and the development of any activity related to livestock and food.
The Guardia Civil has the facts to the attention of the competent authorities in the matter so that it withdraws from animals. The rules have been applied in administrative complaints filed are listed in Law Animal Health Protection Act pets and Royal Decree 348/2000, of 10 March, which is incorporated into the legal system Directive 98 / 58/CE on the protection of animals kept for farming purposes (not the owner take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare of animals).
