I'm usually sozzled when I go to bed in Tenerife, so as soon as my head hits the pillow, I'm in the land of nod!Underdog wrote:I dont know if i face the wrong way or something, but i never sleep well in tenerife, Thinking about it i have slept head nearist the sea, head facing east, and facing west, but i spin about, and wake up knackered, ? uh,I tried aircon on and off, door open or closed, Got to bed at home last night, and slept like a log, No good asking Janet, she could sleep on a clothes line, Strange girl.

Same with my other half asleep before the planes wheels leave the ground and wakes up the other end at touchdown to ask "Are we there yet". You spent to much time worrying and counting the change the taxi driver gave you from the airport to get to sleep.

Re: Do you sleep well in tenerife,
Nope, not a thing at home. In fact I've been without a drink since May, which was the last time I was over. I've stopped completely now.Underdog wrote:

That's why I've quit completely. The pleasure of the night before was being outweighed by the pain of the morning after. Sod that, I felt like I was dying half the time.

Can I suggest that you try something different.

I never hire a car if I can help it, too many tourists on the roads who don't know the Tenerife highway code. :study: Always turning the left indicator on and turning that way which anybody know mean slow down and why anybody drives on the inside lane on a roundabout I shall never know.

Re: Do you sleep well in tenerife,
I agree with LR on this. I hardly touch the stuff anymore at home but when in Tenerife, I usually have a few pints and sleep like a baby. The hangover in Tenerife never seems as bad as the ones I get here!

Re: Do you sleep well in tenerife,
I sleep fab, sozzled or not. Generally 3 sheets by the end of a night. 2 propain tablets before bed with a mere sip of water. Wake up 6 hours later, glass of water short stroll to coffee bar (before OH is awake) 2 coffee's lets start the next day. No probs.
LR go to boots chemist, get some Propain. Have a few drinks one day this week why you are off. Take 2 before bed and see how you feel next day. I take no responsibility though.
As for driving in Tenerife, it is the tourists that keep it going so they need to be tolerated on the road. I must admit I have only been driving 4 years and drive better than most of them.

Re: Do you sleep well in tenerife,
Not long back and no I don't sleep well at all. The apartment we stayed in had no air con and even with the fan was unbelievably hot, especially in the bedroom! I didn't have a good night's sleep at all. Don't know if it was the heat or just a strange bed, maybe if we had air con it would have been better.

Re: Do you sleep well in tenerife,
I'm the same. I find air-con is a necessity. All the fans do is push warm air around the room.

Re: Do you sleep well in tenerife,
Thing is I don't know of any apartments that have air con, well apart from Sunwing Fanabe and it would be full of children!

Re: Do you sleep well in tenerife,
That's why we always use owners-direct. You can pick and choose which apartment and the amenities is has. You can't do the same with tourist complexes ( but that's another whole can of worms)

Yes I have used ownersdirect in the past. Not that many of them have air con.

Re: Do you sleep well in tenerife,
Thing with aircon is, i woke with bit of a sore throat, I turned it down a bit at a time, and the final night wasnt too bad, It also had a quiet mode, so you couldnt hear it at all,
We moan when its hot, And we moan when its cold,
We moan when its hot, And we moan when its cold,
