They have real trees as well so something for everyone. I like the idea but think they could have made it look a bit more abstract.
My Belgian friend is getting all excited she wrote to me a couple of days ago saying
Here we have the tradition to put up our Christmas decorations the day after 6th December Because the night between the 5th and the 6th we have 'sinterklaas' (Santa-Claus) who comes with his steamship from Spain with a lot of black helpers to visit the children. They put there shoes the night before with carrots and sugar for the Saint's horse, with there wishlist..... And when they get up in the morning everything (not the shoes of course) are gone and there are toys on the table, chocolate figurines, mandarins, letter cookies. It's the biggest thing for children in the whole year, when Sinterklaas arrives with his boat, there is a huge cowd singing songs for him (we have a lot of traditional sint songs) I will ad some pics so you see what I mean.... We don't have Santa at Christmas, just a lot of gift under the tree !!
