    It's 25 years today since Fairytale of New York entered the charts. It has been released again to commerate the anniversary. Hard to believe that that drivel from the Pet Shop Boys ( who incidentally butchered "Always On My Mind" ) kept it off the top spot all those years ago

    Fabulous the Pogues do a show every year which my daughter always goes to, mostly Shane McGowan manages to make it even if he is wheeled on. He never was much to look at and I am amazed that he is still around after the way he has abused himself. But I do love their music it has a revolutionary / nationalist sound to it.

    Did you know he has/had an IQ of 155? Thats well above genius level. Think his father was a university lecturer
