I've just checked what is in my Things to do blog for October and it is quiet so far for those dates, but things are advertised late so something could still be happening.
In general though October and beginning November are generally quiet although you will of course have a national holiday on 1st November with All Saints day, in comparison to most holidays this is a family affair and there are few fireworks around. For anyone coming in other months there is a list of what is happening Here
