    Joe Monaghan was the father of Mark Monaghan who is the guitarist/vocalist with Celtic Confusion in the Irish Times, Los Cristianos.
    I met Joe and his wife a few years ago now, when they were visiting the Times and Joe was up on stage with his guitar singing songs and we got to chatting during the breaks. Joe was a great singer in his own right and was the support act for Christy Moore for a time back in the '80s. He will be sadly missed by friends and fans alike and my thoughts and condolences go out to his family who have lost him so near to what was to have been a joyous time.

    Joe was a lovely person and I will treasure his cd he gave us. My heart goes out to his wife and family. I will never forget him.
