THE Cabildo’s fifth annual Clean Sea Campaign, which aims to keep the coastline free of rubbish, began on Sunday and is well underway now.
Prime targets are Puertito de Guimar, Martiánez Playa, in Puerto de la Cruz, and Candelaria, where the locals and tourists will be educated in the ways of beach maintenance.
The campaign also aims to raise awareness among tourists and locals of the importance of protecting and conserving marine life on the beaches and surrounding areas by keeping them free from rubbish and in good condition.
