Do you own a metal detector?

My son in law is a detectorist. He makes a nice living out of it. I tried it once but standing in a field in the middle of the night in the freezing cold doesnt do it for me. :cold4:

A Guy doe's La vista beach last thing at night, then in the morning after the tractor has been along it, dont think he makes 3 steps before he finds something, has cargo pants on with the big pockets, he never throws anything down because he would only get it again, bottle tops i suppose,

And ring pulls. And rings! Son in law has Americans come over twice a year for metal detector tours, one found an ancient ring on a Norfolk beach once that was worth over 4 grand. They generally do fields though, regularly get old Roman coins etc. And one once found a metal toy Concorde, I never planted it there, honest guv!

Read that today, when I saw the picture thought he'd found a gold fish !.

Up here there is a annual fairground called The Hoppings on the Town Moor (fair is know locally as Town Moor) when its finished the moor is a mega for local metal detectors there hundreds if them so much so the council have claimed its illegal to do it after the fair as its there land so they own what's on it, finders keepers its bit !.
