Nice like the UK used to be years ago. I was in Pakuranga for a while but it is so far from anywhere you feel a bit isolated.

It's a suburb of Auckland on the Tamaki about 5km from Bucklands Beach.

Re: Well travelled.
We landed at Auckland but didnt really spend that much time there. We bought an old Toyota minibus for NZ$1100. from an auction and used it as a sort of campervan. This was back in 1995, me, Patsy and the two youngest kids, 2years old and 1month old. Fantastic place where we experienced a volcano going off (Rhuapau), I tried to drive up to get a closer look but was defeated by ice and snow, black it was, before we got through the cloud cover, only me on the road (how mad). Having travelled around for about 3 months we ended up renting a place in Christchurch for a few weeks where we experienced a fairly severe earthquake. We ended up selling the minibus in a Christchurch auction for $1200 dollars so effectively a free car for five months. To be honest I would love to do this in numerous other parts of the world but times have changed a bit so it probably wont happen. I can however recommend New Zealand as a place well worth exploring if you like the great outdoors and can stand the lengthy plane journey, 11 hours + 9hours with a 2 hour break in Singapore. Bed time.

Re: Well travelled.
Here you go then - Death Valley, the hottest place on earth !
My eyes dried up within two of minutes of getting out the car.

I heard it wasn't only your eyes that dried up, but that happened years ago, right.
