    They named a bridge after Billy Whelan in Dublin a number of years ago. Met Harry Gregg in his hotel in Portstewart years ago. He was very nice, but politely yet firmly refused to talk about the crash. I wanted to know what he was thinking about when he went back into the wreckage to rescue others

    Also met Sir Matt in 1978. My dad was hosting a reception for the presentation of a specially adapted bus for the local wheelchair association. Matt was the guest speaker. Again, wouldn't talk about the crash

    It was the opposite Mermaid, they found it too painful to talk about it. In fact, its only in the last few years that Bobby Charlton has opened up.
